EFFECTIVE July 1, 2003—PURSUANT TO ACT 151 OF 2002—All applicants applying for an NEW notary commission or applying to RENEW their notary public commission MUST complete a preapproved 3-hour notary public education course within 6 months prior to appointment or reappointment. Notary applicants MUST submit proof of completion (Course Completion Certificate) with their notary application.
